essenscia is the Belgian federation of the chemical and life sciences industry. The organization defends the specific interests of companies active in the chemical, plastics, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

Our federation brings together more than 720 companies, internationals and SMEs, which represent 95% of the total turnover of the sector.

essenscia's role is to offer its members a tailor-made service with expertise and advice on sectoral issues. essenscia is also the sector's spokesperson in the media and defends the interests of the chemical and life sciences industry at all political levels.

In order to guarantee optimal service, essenscia's structure corresponds to the political division and distribution of competencies in the country. Contacts with the federal government and European politics are carried out through essenscia's transversal operation. The three regional departments - essenscia brussels, essenscia wallonie and essenscia vlaanderen - are the privileged interlocutors of the sector's companies with the Brussels, Walloon and Flemish governments.
